What makes a hydraulic power pack work?

What inverter is to your home, the hydraulic power pack is to the hydraulic system. Energy is reserved in a power delivery system that is portable. This energy is used in hydraulic mechanisms. An electric battery stores electricity that can be utilized in the hour of need. Similarly, hydraulic power packs are used for hydraulic systems.  In several machines where the direct sources of power are available hydraulic power packs are a savior and hence used widely in various industries.


Multiple hydraulic mechanisms can be operated through a single power pack. However, depending on the power requirement, multiple power packs can be required to operate a single hydraulic Mechanism.

Parts and Functionality

1)Source of Power

Power i.e. stored in a power pack has to be derived from somewhere and hence needs a source of power. This source of power or electrical source can be anything, may be a generator or external motor or mains. From a renewable energy source or generator direct current power packs are operated, however, for the alternating current power packs power can be derived directly from the electric grid.

2)Motor

Energy drawn into the power packs is then utilized in the hydraulic mechanism through a control valve.  Power is delivered under rotational force via a shaft through a motor.

3) Sensors

Various control sensors are featured in a Powerpack. These can be the Load sensor, automatic torque limiter, time adjustment delay controls, and controls for speed.

4) Control Valve

Control valves are the connection to the other machine that supplies hydraulic power by specific control systems given by the power pack. Based on the required power, the control valve will be operating with pressure valves Directional control valves or flow control valves or auxiliary Components are used to connect a power pack and the hydraulic system.
